New 2019 Mitsubishi Raider

Regarding Mitsubishi Motors’ return to the Mitsubishi Raider as a new version of Nissan Frontier, one must wonder what it means to return Mitsubishi trucks. However, Mitsubishi is mostly known for its SUVs and fuel-efficient vehicles. Trucks meet somewhere in between, and since 2009 we haven’t seen trucks from Mitsubishi or at least Raider. However, the limit is said to be set, so the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance can eventually pay a little in the form of a new Mitsubishi truck.

Let’s look at the new Nissan Frontier. Powered by a 2.8-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, Frontier has good fuel economy for trucks and fuel economy is clearly important for Mitsubishi, but will not be available until 2019. Nissan Frontier 2017 is currently the 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder as the basic engine, and that’s not a bad engine choice either. It doesn’t produce crazy horsepower (152) or torque (171 lb-ft) and, when paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, has 17/23 mpg city / highway fuel economy.

For technology, Mitsubishi can change things, but both Nissan and Mitsubishi partnered with Rockford-Fosgate for first-class sound system options, so both arrangements could be similar. If Mitsubishi continues to research and work on the infotainment system, Mitsubishi Connect can then test it in 2019 on the new Raider, the 2019 trucks. This will be especially useful for truck drivers who can get some help on the road.

Then there is the load and crane capacity to consider. Nissan Frontier 2017 with 4×2 drivetrain with manual transmission has a standard carrying capacity of 930 liras. Frontier’s standard towing capacity is 3,760 pounds and the luxurious Frontier flooring towing capacity is almost double (6,450 pounds). The old features of the 2009 Mitsubishi Raider are hard to find, but we can imagine that there is a lot of hard work that can be achieved by the new Mitsubishi Raider 2019.
